Thats.....enough

Do you ever say a word over and over and over again until it starts to sound kind of weird? My dear readers we are about to take this blog on a journey to that place. For quite sometime, I've been wanting to get a new tattoo.  It's an odd thing, the call to get inked.  I'm not one of those people that has a ton of things tattoos on her body, nor to I have the desire to have a ton of things tattooed on my body.  But nonetheless, I heard the call to get inked.   I knew this tattoo would be a word.  I knew it would be on my wrist and I knew what I needed  was a reminder. I struggled for the better part of two years with what my word should be.  This is kind of an odd phenomenon since as those of you who read my blog know, I already have a word.  My word, is doorway .  But doorway is not the word that was calling to be permanently inked on my body. So I started going through a list. Surrender  was very high on my list.  After my recent baptism , I thought this woul

The time is now....

Well check me out, doing what I said I was going to do.  I'm writing on the LAPTOP.  You know "the" laptop?   The scary, "full of expectations" laptop?  I'm putting that fear to bed right this minute. I have a friend with this big snake tattoo on his arm and he told me he got it because he spent his whole life afraid of snakes and he wanted to conquer that fear so he inked one right on his body to look at every day. I, however, will not be getting a tattoo of a laptop OR a snake, but I'm going to make this one baby step to quiet the voices. I was cruising through tumblr or Pinterest last week and I came across this little gem. Whether or not you believe in Buddha as a religious leader or not is irrelevant.  The dude had some pretty profound gems.  Like this one. Funny thing, and I'll blame it on being tired, the first time I glanced at it, I was kind of a little bit like, "I don't get it."  and then in a nanosecond came

Myself, too.

Part two of when Elizabeth Gilbert and I became besties. Of course you all know how this story ends.  I do, in fact, meet Liz.  But it was EPIC and therefore I shall tell you the details. Well, it was epic to me, anyway. So the official "book reading," "Liz being an inspiring, charming, funny, brilliant human being speaking to her audience" portion was over.  And this is where it gets good.  The organizers of the event come out, that there is, in fact, a book signing.  Now, when The Signature of All Things came out, I had officially (EGADS!!) made the transition to the e-book (If you have not experienced the e-book on the kindle paperwhite that's why you haven't made the transistion, too.  It's THAT good).  But I bought TSOAT in the old school hardcover version because -- wait for it -- I thought, on the off chance that I did get Liz to sign my book, it would be rude to bring Eat, Pray, Love to a book signing for The Signature of All Things.  Yup

Myself.

If you've read my blog even one time, you know that I'm moderately obsessed with Elizabeth Gilbert , author of the book Eat, Pray Love . This post is about that one time I got to meet dear Lizzie. A little history. I have to provide back story here because just knowing that I'm a fan of EG isn't nearly enough.  Readers, you must understand where my head and my heart were on this night.   You must understand just exactly how I got to this place. I was the last person on the Eat, Pray, Love bandwagon.  What is interesting is that my mom recommended the book to me.  Seems innocuous enough but what you need to know is that my mom is not a huge reader so for her to recommend this book was a pretty big deal.  So I was at Costco and picked myself up a copy for about $8.  Here's a fact you may not know about me.  I don't actually read books.  I devour them.  I have been known on multiple occasions to sit down and not get back up until whatever book I am reading
